Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe Set to Launch in India on August 12

Mercedes-Benz India has officially confirmed that the AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe will debut in the country on August 12, 2025. First unveiled globally in December 2024, this marks the second CLE model to be introduced in India, following the CLE 300 Cabriolet launched last year. The arrival of the CLE 53 Coupe strengthens Mercedes-Benz’s AMG performance lineup in India, positioned as a replacement for both the C-Class and E-Class coupes globally.

Positioned Against BMW M2 and Audi RS5 in India

In the Indian luxury performance segment, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe is expected to go up against rivals like the BMW M2 and Audi RS5 Sportback, especially in terms of performance and pricing. While the official pricing is yet to be revealed, it is likely to carry a premium over the outgoing C-Class Coupe, given its performance-oriented upgrades and AMG branding.

The CLE 53 Coupe boasts a bold and sporty design, staying true to AMG's aggressive styling language. Up front, it features the signature AMG Panamericana grille with vertical slats, flanked by sharp LED headlamps and a muscular front bumper with wide air intakes.

From the side, the coupe gets flared wheel arches, functional vents behind the front wheels, and a sloping roofline that adds to its aerodynamic profile. 19-inch alloy wheels are standard, with 20-inch options available for those seeking a more dominant stance.

At the rear, the CLE 53 Coupe sports full-width LED tail lamps, quad exhaust tips, a gloss-black rear diffuser, and dual vertical air vents, accentuating its performance persona.

Inside, the CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe shares much of its layout with the CLE Cabriolet but gets exclusive AMG-specific interior touches. The most noticeable update is the flat-bottom AMG performance steering wheel, wrapped in Alcantara and leather, complete with red contrast stitching and integrated touch controls.

Performance: Powerful Six-Cylinder Engine with Mild-Hybrid Boost

Under the hood, the AMG CLE 53 Coupe is equipped with a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The powertrain generates an impressive 449 hp and 560 Nm of torque, with an additional 40 Nm boost available temporarily via Overboost.

The engine is mated to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch automatic transmission, and power is distributed to all four wheels via the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. This setup enables the coupe to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.2 seconds.

The top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph, but this can be extended to 270 kmph with the optional AMG Performance Package, offering thrilling driving dynamics on both road and track.
