News Synopsis

Mastercard has revealed its ambition to increase access to the non-fungible token (NFT) market through card payments.

In a blog post published on June 9, Raj Dhamodharan, executive vice president of the company, Claimed to have partnered with MoonPay, Immutable X, Candy Digital, The Sandbox, Mintable, Spring, and Nifty Gateway, enabling the company to trade NFTs.

Coinbase and Mastercard have already partnered to enable cash payments on Mastercard's new NFT platform. Visa has been watching the NFT business since it acquired CryptoPunk at the end of last year. MoonPay has been providing NFT payment solutions to its partners since January.

Visa also announced that it would launch its own NFT Creator program earlier this year to encourage independent NFT artists and small businesses looking to increase their bottom line with NFT technology.

Purchasing NFTs with Mastercard gives you the same cyber security tools as retail transactions and a "complete suite of features to enhance customer security."
