December, the final month of 2025, brought major shifts in the Indian car market. Maruti Suzuki’s Baleno overtook strong rivals such as Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta, and Maruti Dzire to become the best-selling car in India in December 2025.

Maruti Fronx also made a strong jump to second place, while Tata Nexon slipped to third. Hyundai Creta had a weak month and dropped out of the top 10 entirely.

Strong Presence of Maruti Suzuki in the Top 10

The December 2025 Top 10 list was dominated by Maruti Suzuki, with models like Baleno, Fronx, Dzire, Swift, Brezza, Ertiga, and WagonR featuring across multiple segments. Tata Motors placed two SUVs—Nexon and Punch—in the list, while Mahindra Scorpio also secured a position.

Top 10 Best-Selling Cars of December 2025

1. Maruti Suzuki Baleno – A Spectacular Comeback

The premium hatchback Baleno topped the charts in December 2025 with 22,108 units sold.
Its ex-showroom price starts at ₹5.99 lakh.

2. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Secures Second Place

Maruti’s crossover SUV Fronx recorded strong demand with 20,706 units sold, making it the second best-selling car of the month.

3. Tata Nexon Slips to Third Position

After topping the charts in October and November, Tata Nexon dropped to third place in December with 19,375 units sold.

4. Maruti Suzuki Dzire at Fourth Spot

The Dzire, which was India’s best-selling car of 2025, stood fourth in December with 19,072 units sold.
Total Dzire sales in 2025 reached 2.14 lakh units, making it the year’s top-selling car overall.

5. Maruti Suzuki Swift in Top 5

Maruti Swift ranked fifth with 18,767 units sold. It remains popular for its sporty design and features.

6. Maruti Suzuki Brezza at Sixth Place

The compact SUV Brezza sold 17,704 units in December 2025. After a slower year, it saw a strong recovery in the final month.

7. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Takes Seventh Spot

The 7-seater MPV Ertiga recorded 16,586 units in December, continuing its steady performance throughout the year.

8. Tata Punch at Eighth Position

Tata Punch secured eighth place with 15,980 units sold in December 2025.

9. Mahindra Scorpio Ranks Ninth

Mahindra Scorpio featured in the Top 10 with 15,885 units sold, making it the only Mahindra model on the list.

10. Maruti Suzuki WagonR at Tenth Place

Maruti WagonR finished tenth with 14,575 units sold, remaining a strong choice in the family hatchback segment.
