Maju Kuruvilla becomes the new CEO of Bolt
News Synopsis
Maju Kuruvila became the new CEO of the USA-based fintech startup, Bolt. Born in Karnataka, Maju Kuruvilla studied computer engineering from Mangalore University in Karnataka and got his degree of MBA from the University of Washington.
He joined Amazon as Vice President and managed all global logistics along with Amazon Prime fulfilment technology teams worldwide. He looked after the entire business unit spanning business, product, engineering and operations as the vice president of the company.
He later joined startup Bolt as the chief technology officer in January 2021. The individual has stated in his LinkedIn post, “I have always been attracted to complex problems and how to simplify and improve the world with the use of technology.”
He further added that it's not easy running an online business and that only a few companies can afford to have an entire stack to keep up with consumer expectations.
He was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer in August. The founder of the startup Bolt, Ryan Breslow has also praised Kuruvilla’s talents for building world-class teams and “executing relentlessly and scaling globally”.
