News Synopsis

Mahindra & Mahindra has expanded its premium electric vehicle lineup with the launch of the XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition, priced at Rs 29.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Designed as a more indulgent and immersive variant of its flagship electric SUV, the special edition blends distinctive styling with a technology-rich interior. Bookings open on March 2, while deliveries are scheduled to begin from March 10, 2026.

A Premium Twist to the XEV 9e

The XEV 9e first made its global debut in November 2024 and quickly established itself as a prominent name in India’s electric SUV segment. It further strengthened its reputation by winning the Green Car of the Year award at ICOTY 2026.

The newly introduced Cineluxe Edition builds upon this strong foundation. Positioned as a more expressive and lifestyle-oriented alternative, it caters to buyers seeking a plush, lounge-inspired in-cabin environment without opting for a higher-priced bespoke configuration. The edition is based on the fully loaded Pack Three trim, ensuring that it retains all the high-end features while introducing exclusive cosmetic enhancements.

Distinctive Exterior Styling

The XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition stands apart with unique design touches. Customers can choose from two exclusive monotone paint finishes — Satin Black and Satin White. The Satin White option is further accentuated by gloss-black body cladding, adding contrast and a sportier stance.

Subtle ‘Cineluxe’ badging on the rear pillars differentiates this edition from the standard variants. Apart from these styling upgrades, the SUV continues to feature 19-inch alloy wheels, full-LED lighting, and a powered tailgate, consistent with the Pack Three trim. The overall design remains bold and contemporary, reinforcing its identity as a flagship electric SUV.

Dual-Tone Cabin with Enhanced Luxury

Inside the cabin, Mahindra has introduced a new Chestnut Brown and Nocturne Black dual-tone theme. The smooth-grain leatherette upholstery is detailed with contrasting brown stitching across the seats, dashboard, armrests, and steering wheel, giving the interior a refined and premium look.

The design language flows seamlessly through the door pads, compact gear selector, and two-spoke steering wheel. The attention to detail elevates the ambience, making the cabin feel more personalised and upscale.

Immersive Technology and Entertainment

Technology continues to be a major highlight of the Cineluxe Edition. The dashboard features a coast-to-coast triple HD screen setup, creating a futuristic cockpit-like experience. Complementing this is a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system enhanced with Dolby Atmos, offering an immersive surround sound experience.

The panoramic Infinity Roof enhances the sense of space and openness, while the ambient lighting system — capable of displaying over 16 million colour combinations — allows occupants to customise the interior atmosphere according to their mood.

Additional advanced features include:

  • Augmented-reality head-up display (StraightAhead VisionX)

  • EyeDentity driver and occupant monitoring system

  • HandsFree Park with Auto Park Assist

  • Secure360 surveillance system

  • Customisable user profiles

Lifestyle-focused features such as Camp Mode, Keep Mode, and PawPal HVAC settings add versatility, catering to outdoor enthusiasts and pet owners alike. Digital key functionality and Secure360 Pro further enhance security and convenience.

Performance and Range

The Cineluxe Edition is exclusively available with the larger 79kWh battery pack. Powering the SUV is a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 286bhp and 380Nm of torque.

Mahindra claims a real-world driving range of over 500 kilometres on a full charge, while independent tests suggest an achievable range of approximately 456 kilometres. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.45 seconds, offering brisk performance alongside efficiency.

Although specific charging configurations for the Cineluxe Edition have not been separately announced, the standard XEV 9e supports 7.2kW and 11kW AC home chargers, available at additional cost.

A Lifestyle-Oriented Electric Flagship

With the Cineluxe Edition, Mahindra is clearly targeting customers who value both technology and comfort. By blending premium design elements with high-end infotainment and safety features, the SUV aims to deliver a theatre-like experience on wheels.

At Rs 29.35 lakh (ex-showroom), the XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition offers a compelling combination of luxury, performance, and electric mobility. As demand for premium EVs continues to grow in India, this new edition further strengthens Mahindra’s position in the high-end electric SUV segment.
