News Synopsis

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority has imposed a fine of Rs 2.13 lakh on tech major LG Electronics for non-disposable garbage on the premises of the company in the city. The company was fined by the Health Department after GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan ordered the penalisation of the company after inspecting the Udyog Vihar premises of the company.

A pile of garbage was found at the premises during the inspection. It is mandatory for waste generator companies in Greater Noida to dispose of the garbage on their own. GNIDA only inert waste against a monthly fee.

The GNIDA Health Department in charge, Salil Yadav has said that LG also comes under the bulk waste generator category and yet the company has made any arrangements for the disposable of garbage.

GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan has also appealed to all the bulk waste generator companies to impose proper waste management of garbage and make contributions to making the city cleaner.
