News Synopsis

Kitchens@, a cloud kitchen company has been merged with Kitchens Centre. This has made Kitchen Centre a major player in this category. It now has a network of 1,000 kitchens in 100 localities in 20 cities of India. Junaiz Kizhakkayil, founder and chairman of Kitchens@, after the merger in a statement: “We have aggressive plans to expand rapidly across India. This merger will enable us to expedite national and international franchisee operations pan-India.”  The details of the deal have not been revealed as of now. Earlier in this sector, cloud kitchen startup Curefoods merged with Maverix, increasing its presence to 125 kitchens across 12 cities. Kitchen@ currently has several food brands such as Domino’s, Subway, Taco Bell, Nando’s, ChicKing, and national chains such as ITC, Mainland China and Barbeque Nation as its client. Kitchen Centre right now is operating at 45 locations and is aiming to reach 50 very soon. It has partnered with renowned food brands such as Mainland China, Wow Momo, Barbeque Nation, Chaayos and Biryani Blues. After the merger, Kitchen@ will now operate in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ranchi, Indore, Lucknow, and Jamshedpur with 500 employees. Together they will serve more than 150 brands.
