Key highlights from Finance Minister Union budget’s speech

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Union Budget on February 1, 2022. She gave a long speech and explained how much of the funds they have allocated for the development of different sectors such as railways, defence, infrastructure, agriculture as well. As usual, it received mixed reactions from citizens belonging to different walks of life. Some seemed delighted by the announcements made, on the other hand, others were left disappointed. ·       20,000 crore is to be used for the development of new highways.

·       New fund announced to support agriculture-oriented startups.

·       400 Vande Bharat Trains to be manufactured in next three years to boost railway mobility.

·       A digital university to be established in collaboration with the universities in India.

·       23 mental health support centres to be launched to provide telephonic counseling.
