JLR Sales Continued to be Hammered by the Chip Shortage

News Synopsis

Tata Motors has reported a decline in the sales of its luxury car Jaguar Land Rover by almost 40% in 2021. The exchange filings of the company showed a decline of 37% with sales of 80,126 units in the December quarter as compared to the same time period a year ago. 

Even after seeing a decline in the sales of JLR, the analysts say that the overall growth of Tata Motors’ is not totally negative on the outlook of the company. Bank of America has also given a neutral rating while observing that JLR’s volumes continue to disappoint, but the company managed to report a positive cash flow with the help of a positive sales mix. After the ease of semiconductors shortages, the production of JLR has increased by 72,184 units, up by 41% in the last three months.
