News Synopsis

India’s largest telecom operator, Reliance Jio, has introduced an affordable and attractive Rs 51 unlimited 5G data plan for its mobile users. With a subscriber base of over 470 million, the telecom giant continues to deliver value-packed offers aimed at enhancing data access, especially for 5G smartphone users in Jio True 5G coverage areas.

What the Jio Rs 51 Plan Offers

According to the Jio official website, the Rs 51 recharge pack is a data-only voucher that includes two components:

  • Unlimited 5G data (only applicable if the user is in a Jio 5G coverage zone and uses a 5G handset).

  • 3GB of high-speed 4G data for areas without 5G access.

This plan does not come with calling or SMS benefits on its own but is designed to complement existing active recharge plans.

How the Rs 51 Plan Works

The Rs 51 plan is valid for 30 days and can be used only with active base plans, particularly those with 1.5GB per day data limits. This ensures uninterrupted access to high-speed 5G for the duration of the base plan. Once the base plan expires, the Rs 51 data add-on cannot be used independently.

It’s important to note that users must be on an eligible 5G welcome offer plan or a data plan that allows for unlimited 5G access in supported regions.

Additional Plans Offering Unlimited 5G Access

Apart from the Rs 51 plan, Jio’s Rs 101 and Rs 151 data add-ons also unlock unlimited 5G data for users in eligible locations. These data vouchers are helpful for those who run out of daily 4G data but still want access to ultra-fast 5G speeds without upgrading their base plan.

Jio's Efforts for Non-Data Users

In early 2025, responding to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) directive, Jio launched two prepaid calling-only plans for users who don’t require internet access—typically feature phone users. These plans offer:

  • 84-day validity plan.

  • 336-day validity plan priced at Rs 1,748.

Both of these plans include:

  • Unlimited voice calls across India.

  • Free national roaming on all networks.

  • 3,600 SMS messages.

  • Complimentary Jio TV and Jio Cloud access.

However, these calling-only plans do not support the Rs 51 5G data voucher, making them incompatible with the 5G offer.

Data Vouchers for Long-Validity Plans

For users on the 336-day or 84-day voice plans, Jio offers separate data vouchers that start from Rs 19 and go up to Rs 359. These can be used to access mobile data but won’t include the unlimited 5G benefit available with the Rs 51 voucher.

Jio’s Push Towards Affordable 5G Access

The Rs 51 unlimited 5G data offer reflects Jio’s broader goal of making 5G connectivity accessible and affordable to millions of Indian users. With Jio expanding its 5G network coverage rapidly across urban and semi-urban areas, the telco is making high-speed internet available even to budget-conscious consumers.

This strategy aligns with Jio’s long-standing mission of digital empowerment, offering advanced technology at competitive prices. Whether you're a heavy mobile data user or someone simply looking to explore 5G speeds, this plan could be a valuable addition to your recharge portfolio.

How to Activate the Jio Rs 51 Plan

  1. Ensure you have a 5G-enabled smartphone and live in an area with Jio True 5G coverage.

  2. Recharge your base plan (especially one with 1.5GB/day or similar eligibility).

  3. Go to MyJio app or Jio’s official website and choose the Rs 51 data voucher.

  4. Activate the plan, and your 5G data will be available for the next 30 days.

Final Thoughts

Jio’s Rs 51 5G plan offers a great opportunity for users to experience high-speed 5G without breaking the bank. As Jio continues to improve its infrastructure and expand network reach, more users will likely benefit from such offers in the near future.
