Jack Dorsey Reveals Hardware Crypto Wallet

News Synopsis

Former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey’s firm Block is working on a hardware crypto wallet in order to help people safely own and manage their Bitcoins. 

Jesse Dorogusker, the hardware lead at Block tweeted an image showing multiple devices, seemingly including the fingerprint scanner and USB-C charging ports. Jack Dorsey announced that his company is working on a crypto wallet in June 2021. 

The company also said that the crypto wallet is just one component of its crypto storage system and that it also is also working on a corresponding mobile application. 

The head of product, marketing and partnership for Block’s wallet, Lindsey Grossman that the images were some of the prototypes that the company was experimenting with for the hardware component of the wallet. She also said that the wallet includes a mobile app and a set of self serve recovery tools. 

Grossman also said that the company would keep on sharing future explorations which do not help us narrow down how close these prototypes are to be coming out as a real product. 

Jack Dorsey announced to change its name in December from Square to Block as the company focus on Blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
