International Flights to resume on March 27th

News Synopsis

After a gap of two years, On Tuesday, the Central government removed the ban on international flights. The International flights were suspended due to the pandemic will resume taking off from March 27th. Civil Aviation Ministry in its statement said: "After having recognized the increased vaccination coverage across the globe and in consultation with the stakeholders, the Government of India has decided to resume scheduled commercial international passenger services to and from India from 27.03.2022, i.e. start of Summer Schedule 2022." Jyotiraditya Scindia, Civil Aviation Minister informed that all the restrictions and conditions including the Air Bubble Arrangements have also been uplifted. Since July 2020, special International flights were operated between India and 37 countries with special arrangements including the Bubble arrangement. Reportedly, the Bubble arrangement was affecting the airlines’ profitability and operations. Now with the decline in the number of Covid cases, the Government decided to resume full-fledged International Flights. According to the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 3,993 fresh coronavirus cases yesterday. This is the lowest number in 662 days.
