Infosys Shifting Delivery Services to Other Global Delivery Centres

Infosys is shifting its services from Russia to other global delivery centres. The company is taking the step after mounting pressure on UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak, who has been questioning the company’s presence in Russia.

According to sources, Infosys has not given out any other details other than that the company is transitioning services from Russia to other global delivery centres. The company has less than 100 employees in Russia and the status of whether the local staff would be relocated could not be immediately ascertained.

The UK has previously imposed drastic sanctions on Russian businesses and individuals, and Sunak urged all British businesses to think very carefully about investing in Russia as the conflict in Ukraine continues. Regarding strict sanctions against Russia, the son-in-law of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy was asked on the air if his business advice was not being followed in his home.

An Infosys statement said that the multinational software services major supports and advocates for peace between Russia and Ukraine. The statement said that the company has a small team of employees based out of Russia, that services some of its global clients, locally. We do not have any active business relationships with local Russian enterprises. 

The key priority of the company is to continue extending support to the community. It has committed $1 million towards relief efforts for the victims of war in Ukraine.
