On Tuesday, InfoEdge (India) Limited, has acquired a 76% stake in the online dating app Aisle. InfoEdge acquires this stake for Rs. 91 Crore. InfoEdge runs Naukri.com, 99acres, and other portals. Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aisle, Able Joseph after acquisition said: "While most of our competitors focused on engagement through gamification, we went against conventional wisdom and focused on churn. We optimized our products for our members to meet someone special and exit the platform.” He also informed that he will continue leading the platform. The customer base of the online dating app has increased by 100% in the past two years. Rohan Mathur, Executive Vice President and Business Head of Info Edge after investing Rs. 91 crore said: "The matchmaking ecosystem in India has been witnessing a shift in the last couple of years and this partnership will help us redefine and grow the overall category and establish InfoEdge as a leader." InfoEdge is known for early investments in many startups. It is also one of the recent initial investors in the Food Delivery app- Zomato and Insurance platform, Policy Bazaar. Aisle earlier has also launched India's first vernacular dating app for Malayalees- Arike. After Arike, it launched 'Anbe' and  'Neetho' for Tamil and Telugu users respectively.
