India exported goods and commodities worth $22.9 billion in 2021 with a rise of 21% to China, according to the data reported by the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics. A growth of 42.2% was also registered in the trade carried out between the two nations in 2021. There has been a consistent increase in export to China for the last three years. India registered an export worth $17.1 billion in 2019, $19 billion in 2020, and $22.9 billion in 2021. Against the export of Indian goods worth $22.9 billion, India saw a rise of 49% in the import of Chinese goods in the nation amounting to $87.5 billion. The U.S. stands out as India’s biggest trading partner with trade worth $112.3 billion closely followed by China with $110.4 billion in 2021.
