News Synopsis

India's women's cricket team led by Harmanpreet Kaur arrived here on Sunday for a limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka, which starts on June 23.

Without veteran players like Mithali Raj, who has announced her retirement, and veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami, an Indian young team would play three ODIs and multiple T20 Internationals at Pallekele and Dambulla respectively.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) welcomed the visiting team, coached by Ramesh Powar, upon their arrival by sharing photos and pictures on their social media. Before setting off, the India team had a camping trip at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and also interacted with the head of the NCA, VVS Laxman.

We are working hard on our team, we have great combinations and for us, it is a good tour to start with, as it is our first time playing without our seniors and it is a great opportunity for all of us to build a team, Harmanpreet said on Saturday.
