Promoting Invoicing Habit:

In partnership with state governments, the Central Government is introducing the 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikaar' scheme to encourage customers to demand legitimate GST invoices and bills for their business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions.

The scheme will debut as a pilot program in Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, Puducherry, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu, commencing on September 1, 2023. This pilot phase will span 12 months and aims to gauge the effectiveness of the incentive-driven approach.

The scope of the scheme encompasses all B2C invoices issued by GST-registered suppliers within the selected states and union territories. This far-reaching approach underscores the government's commitment to enhancing tax transparency across regions.

Participants can utilize the 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikaar' mobile application available on iOS and Android, as well as the web portal 'web.merabill.gst.gov.in' for uploading invoices. All Indian residents are eligible to participate, and individuals can upload a maximum of 25 invoices per month for consideration in the prize draw.

Cash Prizes for Invoice Uploads:

The core of the 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikaar' initiative lies in rewarding individuals for the consistent practice of seeking invoices. Participants have the opportunity to earn cash prizes ranging from Rs 10,000 to a staggering Rs 1 crore.

To qualify for the lucky draw, invoices with a minimum purchase value of Rs 200 need to be uploaded. Individuals can upload up to 25 invoices per month, starting from September 1, for inclusion in the prize draw. Winners will be chosen via random selection at regular intervals.

Participants must provide essential invoice details during the upload process, such as GSTIN of the supplier, invoice number, invoice date, invoice value, and the state/UT of the customer. Duplicate uploads and those with inactive or fake GSTINs will be excluded.

Empowering Winners:

Winners will be notified through SMS or push notifications on the application or web portal. Successful participants will be required to furnish additional information like PAN number, Aadhar Card, and bank account details within 30 days of notification to facilitate the prize transfer.
