India Will Be Third Largest Economy By 2027-28: Piyush Goyal

India will overtake China as the third-largest economy by 2027, according to Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who was addressing  the Indian diaspora on Monday in France,

"Now we are the 5th largest economy. By 2027-28, we will be the third-largest economy in the world. India is a 3.5 trillion-dollar economy today and will become a 30-35 dollar trillion economy by 2047 when we celebrate 100 years of independence," Mr. Goyal said.

According to the Minister, exports were USD 676 billion last year. "We had a target to reflect the sentiment of young and enthusiastic Indians. In the 75th Year of Independence, we crossed USD 750 billion in exports,"   " he added.

"We are today emerging as the go-to country, as the world's pharmacy, as the world's food bowl and as a trusted partner to other countries. Everybody is looking up to PM Modi's leadership to resolve the world's challenges today,"  he continued.

According to Mr. Goyal, India places a high value on its relationship with France. "I am sure, each of you recognizes that this partnership will see further growth, in terms of both opportunities and friendship. To further our partnership, you all will play a crucial role,"  Speaking to the Indian diaspora in Paris, he remarked.

"PM Narendra Modi is the most popular and loved leader in the world and is also known for having the commitment to care for India and the world. As we believe in 'One Earth, One Family, One Future', the world looks up to his leadership,"  he remarked.

Also, he praised the Indian diaspora, saying "India with capabilities, capacities, competency, and confidence, is the New India what each one of you represents. As Rashtradoots, you are contributing to your Karmabhoomi and Matrabhoomi."

Mr. Goyal asked the Indian diaspora to support Indian culture in France and participate in India's development process.

He stated, "With your support, India will achieve strides of growth and development in the Amrit Kaal," 

"Yahi Samay Hai, Sahi Samay Hai," Mr. Goyal remarked as he extended an invitation to them to join this vision and journey with India.

At the India-France Business Summit, which celebrates 25 years of friendship between the two countries, Mr. Goyal is in Paris.

The India-France Business Summit, celebrating 25 years of friendship between the two countries, will be co-chaired by Piyush Goyal and Olivier Becht, France's Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Attractiveness, and French Nationals Abroad, on Tuesday in Paris.

Building a green future, cutting-edge technology, defence collaboration, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region will all be topics of discussion during the summit.

The Embassy of India in Paris is collaborating with Medef, CII, Business France, and IFFCI to arrange the CEO roundtable and business summit.

More than 400 individuals are registered for the business summit and they are really enthusiastic.

Minister Goyal will attend a CEOs roundtable and interact with business executives from various industries in France.
