India Successfully Test Fired AGNI-4 Missile

News Synopsis

On Monday, the successful test of the medium-range ballistic missile Agni-4 capable of carrying nuclear warheads was successfully test-fired. This missile, capable of striking up to four thousand kilometers, strikes from the ground. On Monday, it was released through the mobile launcher. 

The first test of this missile was done on December 11, 2010. On Monday evening, a team of senior scientists and officials of the Defense Research and Development Organization was present at the time of the missile test from Abdul Kalam Island of Odisha, located in Chandipur, Odisha. This missile has been successfully test-fired several times in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night.

The Ministry of Defense said in a brief statement that the test was conducted at around 7.30 pm. The successful test-fire of Agni-4 reaffirms India's policy of credible minimum deterrence. In this regard, the ministry said that the successful test was part of the routine user training launch conducted under the Strategic Forces Command. The ministry said the launch met all operational parameters as well as the reliability of the system. The successful test reaffirms India's policy of having a credible minimum deterrence capability.

Let us tell you that Agni-4 is an intermediate-range ballistic missile. Agni-4 is the fourth missile in the Agni series of missiles which was earlier called the Agni-II prime missile. Which has been developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization for the use of the Indian Armed Forces. The Defense Research and Development Organization has showcased many new technologies and significant improvements in this missile technology.
