News Synopsis

On Sunday, India resumed regular International flights after nearly two years. Regular international flights were suspended since the inception of the Pandemic in the year 2020. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia called it a "very important day". With this, airlines will operate over 3,200 flights per week from India during this year's summer schedule. This latest update has brought relief to airline passengers as with the termination of restrictions, airlines fares are expected to decrease. According to the aviation industry experts, this could prove to be a great opportunity for the Indian airline industry to increase its market share in Overseas flights. As International flights are resumed by India, it will eventually also contribute to the revival of the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. The traffic increased by 19 percent in the month of February this year compared to the month of January. However, the volumes were still significantly lower than the pre-Covid levels. An Industry expert informed that sectors like hospitality, F&B, and retail sector will see a boost as International flight resumes.
