India Hosts NSA-Level Summit

News Synopsis

In order to discuss the ongoing situation in Afghanistan, India hosted a regional summit on Wednesday. The summit was hosted by India's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval along with officials from Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan also attended the summit. China and Pakistan have previously refused to attend the conference and non of the officials were invited from Afghanistan. 

This is the third time when this type of meeting was held to discuss the situations in Afghanistan. Before this two meetings were held in Iran in September 2018 and December 2019. In the month of August this year, the Taliban took over the country after the troops from the country were withdrawn by the unites states.
