KFC India has unveiled 'KFConscious,' which it claims is the city's most sustainable restaurant, focusing on energy efficiency and the use of environmentally friendly materials, the company announced on Sunday. KFC India has announced plans to open 20 more outlets across the country this year, according to the company.

"A first for the country's Quick Service Restaurant industry, the restaurant is located at Thiyagarayanagar (T Nagar) in Chennai," according to a company statement, demonstrating the brand's commitment to sustainable growth.

The company stated, ''The efforts with KFConscious align with KFC's global commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 46 percent by 2030. This is in addition to a sustainability commitment of all plastic-based, consumer-facing packaging to be recoverable or reusable by 2025."

Energy efficiency, the use of environmentally friendly materials, and waste diversion are all incorporated into the restaurant's design and operations. The brand's ongoing efforts in the journey are carried forward with this launch. According to the company, another KFC outlet in the Yamunanagar Expressway food court is notable for its energy efficiency.

According to the company, The brand plans to open 20 more such restaurants by 2022, with the goal of allowing customers to enjoy their favourite KFC dishes in a more responsible manner.
