Honda Cars' Domestic Sales declined by 7% in March

News Synopsis

On Friday, the Indian division of Japanese automobile maker, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) informed that its sales in the month of March declined by 7 percent compared to the sales it clocked in March 2021. Last month, Honda managed to sell 6,589 units in the Indian market. In March 2021 its sales were 7,103 units. However, it exported more cars last month than it exported in March 2021. Last month it exported 2,243 units as compared to 1,069 units in March 2021. The automobile further went on to inform that it dispatched 85,609 units in the fiscal year 2021-22, posting a growth of 4.3 percent over 2020-21 fiscal. Director of Marketing and Sales of Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), Yuichi Murata is optimistic about the growth of the company in near future. He said: ''We weren't isolated from these challenges and did feel the impact of the chip shortage. With the market situation returning to normalcy after an extended tough period, the current situation looks stable paving the way for growth in the future. We are entering this financial year with renewed energy and enthusiasm.”
