Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed his 20 years in High Public Office on October 7, 2021. The individual has served as Chief Minister of Gujrat and is now serving as the Prime Minister of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated the Swachha Bharat Mission, following the guiding philosophy of Gandhi, who started the Swachhata Mission. 

The mission Narendra Modi launched in October 2005, Gujarat Urban Development Year was the programme that connected Gandhiji's dream to the Prime Minister's belief that development can stand only on the fulcrum of Sanitation. It also introduced many innovative features like community involvement, women-led implementation, and focus on behavioral change, and many more. This helped him to bring the dream of the Swachh Bharat Mission into reality. 

The government has increased solid waste management by building more than 73 lakh toilets across the country. Under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna the government has successfully sanctioned 1.14 crore houses, and more than 51 lakh beneficiaries have already started moving into their allotted houses. AMRUT and AMRUT 2.0 have addressed the need for the basic civic infrastructure and universal water supply with tap connection respectively.
