News Synopsis

Google plans to invest approximately $9.5 billion in US offices and data centers this year to open new offices and expand existing facilities an increase from $7 billion in 2021.

Alphabet Google has said that the investment in more than a dozen states will create at least 12,000 new full-time jobs by the end of 2022. The company also plans to open a new office in Atlanta, expand its presence in New York, have its own campus in Boulder, Colo, and invest in data centers across the country.

Google has also invested more than $37 billion in offices and data centers in 26 states over the past five years.

In March 2021, Google announced plans to spend $7 billion later this year to expand its US office and data center footprint. This includes a $1 billion investment in our home state of California.

The company announced its plans to buy a Manhattan office building for $2.1 billion last year. The deal for the new building was the most expensive sale of a single US office building since the start of the pandemic
