News Synopsis

Google has lost its appeal against the EU’s competition regulator. The claim was made against Google saying that the search engine is favoring its own price comparison when showing the search results over other competitors.

The General Court has diminished Google’s appeal saying that Google is trying to dominate the price comparison with its dominant position. Google spokesman José Castañeda has said in his statement that the company has made changes back in 2017 according to the European Commission’s decision. He also said that the judgment is made based on a specific set of facts and has said that they will review it. The appeal was made against $2.8-billion and after losing it is believed that the company has to pay the fine worth $2.8 billion.
