News Synopsis

Technology giant Google is working on two built-in snoring and cough detection features. This allows you to detect if a user has snored or coughed while sleeping. The tech giant reportedly is working on these features on the Pixel and Android, 9To5Google reported.

The tech website found a line of code in the installation file for the Google Health Studies app. It was revealed that the company is conducting a survey called "aSleep Audio Collection". This is only available to Google employees.

"The health detection team is actively working to bring a sophisticated suite of sensor features and algorithms to Android devices to provide users with meaningful sleep insights," Google said.

This audio collection "supports its mission by providing the data needed to validate, tune, and develop such algorithms." These "cough and snoring algorithms" are translated into the "bedside monitor" feature of Android devices and work in a "privacy protection, on-device" way for acenocturnal cough and snoring monitoring.
