News Synopsis

The Google Assistant will soon recognize your voice as the company is working on a personalized voice recognition feature. According to 9to5Google, this tool helps the Google Assistant "better recognize common words and names." Personalized voice recognition features will soon appear in the Google Assistant settings.

The feature description reads: "Store audio recordings on this device to help Google Assistant get better at recognizing what you say. The audio stays on this device and can be deleted any time by turning off personalized speech recognition".

Future features will extend AT and ML-based extensions beyond "Hey Google" to real assistant commands, especially names (notify contacts using voice) and commonly spoken words.

For privacy reasons, Google gives users the option to disable personalized speech recognition in their settings if they don't want to save their voice. Virtual Assistant software applications can now also alert users when they need to change their passwords and help them change their passwords.
