News Synopsis

ISpot.tv Inc. is a company dedicated to helping advertisers validate the reach and impact of TV and streaming video ads, with a $325 million investment from Goldman Sachs Asset Management LP.

iSpot develops software that can automatically recognize content in real-time, catalog metadata, and collect information such as when a commercial break begins, which commercial is played and the time when a particular ad is played, and for how long it needs to be played.

The company was valued at $330 million in the most recent round of 2018 and previously raised a total of $58 million. iSpot, which employs 350 people, said last year's revenues increased from $51 million in 2020 to $75 million.

The company plans to use this money to expand its offerings, in part through potential acquisitions, and hire in areas such as engineering, product development, and sales. iSpot has acquired several ad-measurement companies including Ace Metrix Inc, DRMetrix LLC, and Tunity Inc

In January, NBCUniversal announced that it tapped iSpot as one of the providers to help build a new measurement framework for reviewing traditional TV and streaming video ads.
