Gautam Adani Becomes the World’s Fifth-Richest Person

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani is the fifth richest person in the world, overtaking legendary investor Warren Buffett. According to a Forbes report, 59-year-old Adani had an estimated net worth of $123.7 billion at Friday's closing, surpassing Buffett's $121.7 billion.

According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Industrialist Gautam Adani has added $43 billion to his wealth in 2002. Adani is currently behind four of the world's wealthiest giants, Microsoft co-founders Bill Gates ($130.2 billion), Bernard Arnault ($167.9 billion), Jeff Bezos ($170.2 billion), and Elon Musk ($269.7 billion). With an estimated net worth of US $123.7 billion, Gautam Adani is the richest person in India.

Gautam Adani is the chairman and founder of the Adani Group, which operates a wide range of businesses from airports to ports, and power generation to distribution. It has six listed companies in India, including Adani Enterprises, Adani Green Energy, and Adani Power.

Last week, businessman Gautam Adani said that if the country grows to a predicted $30 trillion economy by 2050, it could become the home of a country where no one will sleep hungry.
