News Synopsis

After halting its operations a few days ago, Apple supplier Foxconn has restarted some production at its Shenzhen facility in China. It halted its manufacturing plant due to the resurgence of huge numbers of Covid-19 cases in Shenzhen city. A Foxconn spokesperson said: "In applying this closed-loop management process within the Shenzhen campus and in implementing the required health measures for the employees who live on campus, some operations have been able to restart and some production is being carried out at those campuses. The company will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities in monitoring these operations very closely." The Chinese authorities have imposed a lockdown in the entire city till March 20. The authorities took this decision as 3000 new covid cases were reported in the city last Sunday. This lockdown will eventually delay the shipment of Apple’s Mac Studio desktop. The US-based tech giant recently launched the new Mac Studio.
