The U.S. Sun has an exclusive discussion with astronaut Stan Love in which he discusses aliens and reveals why he believes we haven't yet discovered them. According to him, "There is one science fiction novel, that I think gets this right, which is Solaris by Stanisław Lem and I think that handles extraterrestrial intelligence better than any other science fiction work I’ve seen."

He added: "Read it. Don’t see the movies. The movies are about people, they’re not about the aliens, the book is about the aliens." Love, an American scientist, and astronaut who joined the National Aeronautics and Space Administration NASA in 1998, made his first space trip on the Space Shuttle Atlantis in 2008. He is currently 57 years old.

Despite spending more than 300 hours in space, he has yet to observe any indications of intelligent life on Earth. Love doesn't think intelligent alien life has visited our planet, despite Nasa's recent announcement that it is officially looking into inexplicable UFO sightings.

He believes that more accurately than any other existing explanation, the events of the 1961 science fiction novel Solaris describe aliens.

"That’s the closest theory I’d agree with so far. he remarked. Despite being the same species, we sometimes have trouble understanding one another.

"Then when you get to different species on Earth that are also intelligent, there’s this huge barrier and then if you get to aliens with no connection with us whatsoever, it would be hard for us to recognize that they are intelligent."

The plot of Solaris focuses on a team of scientists who are attempting to comprehend alien intelligence. On a planet called Solaris, there is a large sentient ocean that is the alien in question. In the end, the scientists learn very little about the ocean but a lot about themselves.

Former Chief Scientist at NASA, Jim Green claims that humans will soon have a close encounter with aliens. He claims that they were making enormous progress and he has understood a lot of things in his 40 years of experience in the space industry.

He said that the James Webb Telescope would be able to help analyze the atmosphere of planets that are unreachable right now. The former NASA scientist called it a huge step forward and said that we can see some astonishing discoveries in the future years.

Jim Green retired from NASA in January this year. He told BBC, “Many of them are in places much like the Earth where we can receive the light from the sun and we can have water, and not only in liquid form, frozen form and vapor form. These are important conditions we believe for life.”
