According to a recent study global investment in AI-centric systems will top $118 billion in 2022 and more than $300 billion by 2026. But none of this investment is giving any benefits. In a study Infosys Data+AI Radar found that if AI technology was improved businesses could generate an additional $460 billion in profits.

Companies need to improve their data management have confidence in trying to cut AI and integrate AI into existing business processes in order to realize these rewards. Although there are high expectations for data and AI most businesses fail to take action in these areas to turn data science into financially useful information.

The Infosys Data+AI Radar "Making AI Real" research states that even though three out of four enterprises aspire to implement AI across their organizations most still are beginners to the technology and face significant scale challenges. In the last four years only, at least 81 percent of respondents installed their first real AI systems and 50 percent did so in the last two.

There is a mismatch in expectations according to Balakrishna D R executive vice president and global head of AI automation and ECS at Infosys. what we found is that most businesses have experimented with AI. There are several POCs with use cases. but their expectation was to use AI to greatly change the way their organization works and increase efficiency. And that has not happened Balakrishna stated in reference to the report's conclusion.
