News Synopsis

To watch the entire 2022 Fifa World Cup Finals, which begin on November 20 in Qatar, football fans in Singapore would need to spend at least $98.

The national broadcaster Mediacorp, the telecoms Singtel and StarHub, and the telcos announced the early-bird subscription pricing of $98 before November 6; after that date, the subscription will cost $118.

The cost is slightly more than the $94 subscription fee ($112 after early-bird promotion) for the World Cup Finals of 2018.

Viewers will be able to stream the games live or on demand using any device with the subscription. Additionally, they will be able to watch studio shows and on-site programming including commentators like Marcel Desailly, Arsene Wenger, Lothar Matthaus, Gabriel Batistuta, and Paul Scholes.

On StarHub's TV+ and IPTV platforms (Ch251 and Ch252), Singtel TV, Singtel TV GO (Ch141 and Ch142), and CAST, as well as Mediacorp's digital entertainment streaming service meWatch, packages for all 64 matches will be made available.

Similarly to the 2018 World Cup, nine important matches will be shown on free-to-air television for Singaporeans via Mediacorp Ch5.

Along with their 2022 World Cup subscriptions, Singtel and StarHub both presented special offers.

The World Cup will be available as a value-added bonus along with other channels that are only available on Singtel TV from October 30 through December 18 for Singtel customers who re-contract or sign up for any 24-month Singtel TV plan at $52.90 and above. These channels include Jia Le, e-Le, Astro Ria, Astro Prima, Discovery Channel, Vijay TV, Star Gold, and Star Plus.
