News Synopsis

EVage, an all-electric vehicle startup, disrupts the last Mile delivery segment by launching the first one-tonne delivery truck by the end of this year to harness the demand for e-commerce companies.

Inderveer Singh, founder, and CEO of EVage, will be the first to launch an all-electric vehicle designed from scratch by a Mohali-based company that has spent nearly seven years developing, testing, and validating the product.

In January of this year, the company raised $28 million in a seed funding round led by US venture capital firm RedBlue Capital. The company is spending money to build a factory outside Delhi, where it will manufacture its first product codenamed Model X.

With commercial vehicles accounting for one-third of India's oil consumption, electric vehicles offer attractive suggestions for decarbonization and cost savings. With these few tailwinds, Singh can develop delivery trucks and make the new era of logistics networks more efficient.

The company's future factories will be modular in nature and will be a miniature of large car factories. There is no conveyor belt that stretches for miles.
