News Synopsis

ProLogium Technology Co., a Taiwanese battery manufacturer, is considering the United Kingdom as a potential location for a $8 billion factory that would produce a promising but unproven new generation of cells for electric vehicles.

According to a statement, the solid-state battery startup is evaluating 90 sites in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United Kingdom. Locations will be assessed based on the availability of skilled labor, transportation links, and incentives offered, as well as proximity to customers.

A final decision is expected early next year, according to a ProLogium spokesman in Taiwan. Other locations in the United States, China, and Southeast Asia are also being considered. Accuracy Consulting has been retained by the company to assist with the search.

As the internal combustion engine is phased out of the automotive industry, the UK is making a concerted effort to attract battery manufacturers. The country's car production has steadily declined over decades, and the industry's woes have been exacerbated by uncertainty about the future of Britain's trading relationship with the European Union.

ProLogium Technology, founded in 2006, is an energy innovation firm focused on solid-state battery research, development, and manufacturing, offering next-generation battery solutions for electric vehicles in consumer markets and industrial applications. ProLogium meets battery requirements such as extreme safety, high energy density, and low cost by leveraging years of proven core technologies.
