Engineering, Telecom, Healthcare Expected to Add About 12 Million Jobs by FY26

News Synopsis

According to a report by TeamLease Digital, the specialised staffing division of TeamLease Services, engineering, telecom and healthcare are expected to add around 12 million new jobs by FY26.

The report delves  into professional roles, required skills, skill gap and actions taken by employers to fill the gap, and market median salaries for these roles. It also covers the impact of technology adoption and digitization on employment in  three sectors.

The focus on recovery coupled with the technology proliferation and digitisation in these sectors can also lead to an increase in demand for talent with skills and expertise. The demand for specialised roles will double by 2026. 

According to the survey, engineering, telecommunications, and healthcare contributions to GDP will increase over the next five years, and employment will increase significantly. Total employment in the three sectors  will increase from  4.56 million today to 9.03 million over the next five years.

The head of Specialised Staffing, TeamLease Digital, Sunil C has said, “The engineering, telecom, and healthcare sector are on the verge of the industry transformation. There is a shift from a central industrial control system to one where smart products and processes at the heart of their operations. This transition couples with the PLI scheme and FDI is driving and exponential demand, more so far talent with niche skills across these sectors.”
