News Synopsis

The Twitter and Elon Musk saga is still making headlines. Recently, after his suggestions to make certain changes in the social networking platform were denied by Twitter, Tesla's CEO offered the company a sum of $43 billion to buy Twitter.

While he is trying to buy the company, he is no longer the largest shareholder of the company, after funds held by Vanguard Group upped their stake in the social media platform, making it the largest shareholder and bumping Tesla CEO out of the top spot. According to the recent publicly available filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Vanguard disclosed 10.3% shares with 82.4 million shares of the company.

According to Filing, the asset manager has increased their stake in the company during the first quarter. Vanguard's holdings are now worth $3.78 billion, based on Wednesday's Twitter share price. Vanguard did not make directional bets on Twitter. Instead, most of his wealth lies in indexes and other so-called passive funds. The company often stands on the side of management on voting issues and does not insist on changes like hedge funds and activist investors.
