Elizabeth Truss will Visit India on March 31

The Ministry of External Affair (MEA), on Monday, announced that British Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss will be visiting India on Thursday against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Ministry further informed that she will have a discussion with India’s Minister of External Affair, S Jaishankar on bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest. In the past few weeks, many Western leaders, including the foreign ministers of Austria and Greece and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland have visited India. Recently, China’s Foreign Minister also visited India. The MEA in a statement said: "The visit will also serve to further deepen our partnership across various sectors such as trade and investment, science, technology and innovation, defense and security, climate cooperation, education, and digital communications," It further conveyed that Truss would also participate in the inaugural edition of the India-UK Strategic Futures Forum, a track 1.5 Dialogue between the two countries.
