EekiFoods raised $2 Million from Avaana Capital

News Synopsis

Agritech startup, EekiFoods has raised $2 million from Avaana Capital and others. The funding round was led by Avaana Capital along with the participation of Better Capital and Icebreaker VC and other key investors. 

EekiFoods will use the capital to expand it's business and upgrade technology. It plans to expand its geographical presence, further technology development, increase the SKUs and onboard top talent. 

EekiFoods was founded by IIT Bombay Alumni Abhay Singh and Amit Kumar in 2018. It has earlier raised funds from GSF Accelerator and some individual investors. The company has said that the Plant Growth System technology has been developed over 3 years and innovation lies in creating the ideal zo-environment for roots of plants.

The startup claims that its technology saves 80% water, and the yield is at least 300% more than conventional farming. It has also partnered up with corporates like HNIs, investors and local businesses for setting up farms in Kota, Jaipur on the outskirts of Mumbai-Pune, NCR and other cities.
