News Synopsis

Cryptocurrency has become quite popular in the last few years all over the world. Edward Snowden, head of the Freedom of the Press Foundation and famous whistleblower, believes that there is more value in using cryptocurrencies as a form of digital payment instead of investment. He considers Bitcoin a suitable digital payment mode.

He said that crypto should be taken as a more scalable asset than a form of investment. In a virtual media session held in Texas, USA, Edward Snowden said, "Generally I do not encourage people to invest in cryptocurrencies as technology and because of this I'm far from a lot of people in this community. I used to use bitcoin many years ago to pay for servers in an unknown way."

He further added that a major problem with Bitcoin is it's not being private. This electronic cash system is failing because the purpose of cash is to remain anonymous.
