News Synopsis

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has introduced a new voter-centric digital service, "Book-a-Call with BLO", to improve accessibility and transparency during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh. The facility has been launched while the claims and objections window remains open till February 6, 2026, offering voters a direct communication channel with election officials.

What Is the ‘Book-a-Call with BLO’ Facility?

Direct Voter Assistance Through Phone Calls

According to an official statement, voters can now book a phone call with their respective booth level officer (BLO) to seek guidance or clarification related to the electoral roll. This includes assistance for inclusion, deletion, or correction of voter details, ensuring smoother participation in the revision process.

Platforms Where the Service Is Available

The facility can be accessed through:

  • The ECI voter portal – voters.eci.gov.in

  • The ECINET mobile application

After logging in using a registered mobile number or completing the OTP-based sign-up process, voters can proceed to book a call.

How Voters Can Book a Call with Their BLO

Details Required for Booking

Voters can schedule a call by:

  • Entering their EPIC number or reference number, or

  • Providing alternative details such as state, district, assembly constituency, and booth number

Once the request is submitted, the concerned BLO will contact the voter within 48 hours.

Why This Facility Matters

The ‘Book-a-Call with BLO’ initiative aligns with the Election Commission’s broader push toward digital governance, voter convenience, and transparency. By enabling direct interaction with BLOs, the EC aims to reduce confusion, address grievances quickly, and ensure that eligible voters are not left out of the electoral process.
