Neeli Bendapudi was born in Visakhapatnam, India, and later moved to the USA for her studies. She is currently working as the president and professor of marketing at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Neeli Bendapudi also thanked the Board of Trustees at the Pennsylvania University and said that she will do her best to achieve new heights for the university in the future. Bendapudi will be serving as the 19th president of Pennsylvania University from the spring of 2022.
