News Synopsis

One of the leading retail chains in India, DMart has released its quarter-four results. It has reported a standalone revenue of ₹8,606 crores in this quarter, with an increase of 18% from the same quarter in the last year. Last year it generated a revenue of ₹7,303 crores in the same quarter. The company further informed that its standalone revenue is subject to limited review by the statutory auditors of the company. The company also added 21 stores in this quarter taking its presence to a total of 284 stores spread across the country. On Friday, shares of DMart closed 1.91% higher at ₹4,080 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. Avenue Supermarts Ltd which owns and operates DMart has informed that its standalone profit increased by 25% to ₹586 crore during the December quarter. Also, the total revenue earned by the company is ₹9,065 crore in the third quarter. In the same period, last year, the revenue was ₹7,433 crores. The company’s EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortization) in the third quarter stood at ₹868 crores.
