News Synopsis

Union power minister RK Singh on Friday informed that the government is planning to completely replace diesel with renewable energy by 2024. Union power minister emphasized work in synchronization with the state governments to achieve their vision of zero-diesel use in agriculture, during a meeting conducted with the officials of the power ministry, and the ministry of new and renewable energy. This will be a significant effort to fulfill the commitments made by the Prime minister of India Narendra Modi, during the COP 26 summit, last year. This is done to limit the carbon emissions of the nation. Mr.Singh, during the meeting, highlighted that the commercial buildings should follow ECBS and the domestic buildings should follow ECO NIVAS and this should be part of the building by-law. He said that all the power demand will be met by non-fossil fuel methods with the help of energy storage.
