"A sequence of spot checks was completed on all operational aircraft of M/s Spicejet between 9th July 2022 through the 13th of July in 2022. The 53 checks performed on 48 aircrafts, and didn't find any serious safety or security violation," the aviation ministry informed Rajya Sabha in a reply to a query. The DGCA demanded that airlines correct the problems in its 10 aircraft, and all of these aircraft are operating again according to the ministry.

The ministry further informed Parliament that it also conducted the audit of regulatory compliance for three airlines scheduled to operate, which included SpiceJet in accordance with the Annual Surveillance Programme (ASP) 2022. In addition, the ministry clarified during the SpiceJet flight that was diverted from Karachi on the 5th of July, crew members did not declare an emergency and neither did there exist any leaks of fuel in the plane. "Cabin crew members did not declaring an emergency. Checks and inspections after landing of Karachi did not uncover a the presence of fuel," the ministry said.

"I am delighted that the results of the different checks conducted through the DGCA on our fleet were released through the government. I am pleased that these results and assessments are not the work of any other agency than the DGCA the country's most prestigious aviation safety regulator and safety organization," said Ajay Singh the managing director and chairman of SpiceJet.

The regulator issued a notification in the form of a notice to SpiceJet after it was reported to the regulator of 8 safety incidents within the span of only 18 days. "Passenger security is the most important thing. Any error that could compromise safety will be thoroughly examined and corrected," Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia had stated in a tweet in June. The airline has a 13% of the market share in the aviation industry in India by the number of passengers it transports. Safety issues caused a lot of problems for SpiceJet. It was reported that in May the company ranked second in flight cancellations, as per the report of DGCA. SpiceJet was also on top in the ranking of carriers whose service is the least satisfying and was followed by Indigo as per the latest LocalCircles survey.
