Delhi Government to install electric vehicle charging stations

To promote the use of Electric Vehicles, Delhi Government has decided to build electric vehicle charging stations at all government offices in the national capital. It would encourage government employees to buy electric vehicles as it would be convenient to charge their vehicles during their office hours. These charging stations will also be accessible to citizens as well. Delhi government has directed all its departments to install public charging stations at all government within three months. Delhi has suffered from hazardous air quality for the last few years. Vehicular emission is one of the major contributions to the deteriorating air quality of the national capital. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, while informing about his government’s new plan said: "Electric vehicles are being promoted rapidly throughout Delhi in order to implement the vision of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In Delhi, electric vehicle charging stations are being built speedily".
