Cumulative Production of Volkswagen Group Crosses 15 lakh units in India

News Synopsis

According to Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL), one of the biggest automobile companies around the globe- the Volkswagen group has announced that it has achieved 15 lakh units of cumulative sales of vehicles in India. These sales came from three brands of the group-  Skoda, Volkswagen, and Audi. It further informed that this milestone was achieved collectively from the group's two manufacturing facilities located in Pune and Aurangabad. This milestone was achieved with the production of Skoda Kushaq at its manufacturing facility in Pune. Currently, the SAVWIPL facility in Pune manufactures Skoda Kushaq, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Taigun, Volkswagen Virtus, Volkswagen Polo, and Volkswagen Vento. On the other hand, the Aurangabad manufacturing plant manufactures premium and luxury models from the group's brands Skoda, Volkswagen, and Audi. Managing Director of SAVWIPL, Piyush Arora said: ''The production milestone is a significant achievement and a testament to the success of our products in the domestic as well as export market.'' At this achievement, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing Christian Cahn said: ''With over two decades of providing world-class products for the Indian market, the group's brands have nurtured strong relationships with the Indian automotive customer, and our production facilities have played a key role in its growth journey.''
