News Synopsis

According to a new survey by the US crypto exchange Bitstamp, both institutional and retail crypto investors think that crypto will become mainstream within the next decade. As per the survey, Crypto Investors are leveraging emerging markets being attracted to blockchain technology with the promise of an alternative digital-first payments network. Other than this, Investors in developed countries are hoping that policymakers might adopt crypto assets as a feasible alternative to fiat money. The rate at which crypto assets will become mainstream is directly proportionate to crypto adoption.

The current policy indicates a very unclear picture with some countries, like India, charging high tax rates on crypto investors, whereas others like El Salvador have accepted Bitcoin as legal tender. Other than this, China has already imposed a ban on crypto assets, and the United States is yet to make a final decision on Cryptocurrency. Meanwhile, as of now investing in the stock market or property ownership is still regarded as a more trustworthy investment than investing money into crypto. However, institutional investors believe that with crypto assets emerging as the most popular investment option this narrative will change in the next ten years.
