CityMall Plans to Hire 400 people this year

News Synopsis

On Wednesday, emerging social commerce platform, CityMall announced that it will be utilizing the capital raised in its recent fundraising rounds to hire around 400 people in the next 12 months. The company also informed that it aims to introduce new categories on its platform and expand the existing ones. The company also plans to enhance its supply chain and tech stack. Other than this, it has further plans to increase its presence to 60 towns in the next 12-15 months. In the next 18 months, the company aims to provide its services in 100 towns. CityMall’s latest Series C round was led by Norwest Venture Partners and it witnessed participation from General Catalyst, Citius, Jungle Ventures, Arena Ventures, Elevation, Accel, and Waterbridge. The company, however, didn’t disclose its valuations, but its co-founder Kikla informed that it is above $300 million. Till now, CityMall has raised a total of more than  $110 million. It was founded by Angad Kikla and Naisheel Vardhan in the year 2019 and provides grocery, fresh, and packaged fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) products, electronics, and fashion products in small villages and towns.
